Evaluation of remineralizing efficiency of two calcium-based non-fluoridated remineralizing agents for the prevention of white spot lesions (WSL): A comparative FESEM & EDS in-vitro study

This research work was designed to appraise and equate the remineralizing efficiency of two calcium-based phosphate delivery agents, Casein Phosphopeptide-Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (CPP-ACP) Sucrose (CaSP) for preventing development White Spot Lesions (WSL) around orthodontic brackets. Forty orthodontically removed premolar teeth were randomly allocated Group 1(n=20) - 2(n=20) (CaSP). All specimens subjected FESEM EDS analysis before initial demineralization phase after 14 days pH cycling phase, observe record changes in surface topography mineral content (Ca/P ratio % wt.). Statistical data Intragroup comparison analyzed by using Paired sample t-test, whereas Intergroup comparison, an Unpaired t-test performed. Furthermore, One-way ANOVA test applied comparing Post-hoc Tukey compare data. 1 samples showed 11.3%increase remineralization 2 a 21.3%increase remineralization, indicating statistically significant (p < 0.05) 11% greater CaSP. The use tooth cream brackets seems produce significantly better effects.
